Terms of Use

Walk Anywhere · GeoStride — last updated 8 August 2026

These terms cover your use of the GeoStride app. By using the app you accept them. If you do not, please do not use the app.

This app is operated by Ayush Patidar. Questions about these terms go to apatidar.work@gmail.com. How your data is handled is covered separately in the Privacy Policy, which forms part of these terms.

What the app does

GeoStride reads your step count and walking distance, with your permission, and advances a marker along a walking route between two places you choose. The route is a real pedestrian path, but the journey is not: you are not travelling anywhere, and the app is not a navigation tool.

Not a medical device. GeoStride is for motivation and entertainment. Nothing in it is medical or fitness advice, and the step and distance figures come from your phone's health store — they are as accurate as your device is, and no more. Talk to a qualified professional before changing how much you exercise.

Your account

An account is optional; the app works signed out. If you create one, keep your password to yourself — you are responsible for what happens under your account. You can delete it at any time from Settings, which permanently removes what is stored against it.

Free plan and premium

What each includes

The free plan covers one journey and one Friends group, and shows banner ads. A premium subscription removes the ads and the limits. The exact price, billing period, and any introductory offer are shown on the purchase screen in the app before you buy, in your own currency.

Billing and renewal

Refunds

Refunds are handled by the store that took the payment, under that store's policy. We cannot issue a refund for a purchase we did not process. Where the law where you live gives you a right to cancel or a refund, that right applies regardless of anything in this section.

Price changes

If a subscription price changes, the store will tell you before it takes effect and ask for your consent where its rules require it. You can always cancel instead.

Advertising

The free plan is supported by banner ads on the Home and Activity screens. No health data — no step count, no distance, and nothing derived from either — is ever passed to an advertising provider. Subscribers see no ads.

Friends

Friends is opt-in. Joining a group shares your display name, emoji and daily step counts with the other members of that group, and nothing else. Do not join a group with people you would rather not share those with, and do not use a display name you would not want those members to see.

Acceptable use

We may suspend access that breaks these rules.

Third-party services and map data

Routes, place search and map tiles come from third-party services listed in the Privacy Policy. Their availability is not something we control, and an outage there can stop journeys being created. Map data is © OpenStreetMap contributors, licensed under the ODbL. Place data is © GeoNames, CC BY 4.0.

Availability and changes

The app is provided as it is. We do not promise it will be uninterrupted or error-free, and features may change or be withdrawn. Your journey data is stored on your device and, when you are signed in, backed up to our servers — but keep in mind that no backup is a guarantee.

Liability

To the fullest extent the law allows, we are not liable for indirect or consequential loss, for lost data, or for anything arising from your reliance on step or distance figures the app displays. Nothing here limits liability that cannot legally be limited — including for death or personal injury caused by negligence, or for fraud.

Changes to these terms

If these terms change materially, the date at the top changes and, where the change affects a purchase you have made, you will be told in the app.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of India, without affecting any consumer-protection rights you have where you live.
